Raw Oil Factory

One of the most ambitious investments of Konya Seker to decrease importing of agricultural products and increasing the income of the farmers of the region by diversifying their agricultural activities is the Raw Oil Factory. Foundations of the factory were laid at the beginning of 2012 and the plant began production with the harvest of oil seeds in September of the same year. Interest in oil seed agriculture increased in Konya region when Konya Seker announced that it would establish a raw oil plant.

Konya, which produced only 50.000 tons of sunflower oil in 2010, became the province in Turkey, which produces the highest amount of sunflower for oil with approximately 265.000 tons in 2013 and 2014, according to TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data. Sunflower oil production of the plant, which ensures diversification of plant production in Konya Plains, which was mostly grain and sugar beet, is offered to the retail market with Torku Altinekin brand.
